Know they got it: Got it and Not here

Recipients tell you whether the gift arrived, right on their gift page. No awkward "did you get it?" emails, and a clear list of who has not answered yet.

"Delivered" is not the same as "they have it"

The carrier can say delivered while the parcel sits in a mailroom, at a neighbour's, or nowhere at all. And asking a client "did you get it?" can feel like asking to be thanked.

GiftDesk asks for you, on the recipient's gift page, framed as letting the sender know. It never asks for thanks.

Part of Delivery health.

What the recipient sees

When the carrier marks the gift delivered, or it has been out for delivery for a day without a delivered scan, the gift page shows a card:

Did your gift arrive? Let (your team's name) know.

They tap Got it or Not here. With Got it, they can add an optional note of up to 280 characters. It lands on the order for your team to read.

No account, no login, no extra email. If they tap the wrong one, they can switch ("It turned up" or "Actually, it's not here") for 7 days.

What your team sees

  • Status badge: Got it (green) or Not here (red) in the Status column, on both the shared desk and the store's campaign table.
  • Confirmed tile: how many recipients tapped Got it. It is counted separately from Delivered, so you can see the gap between "the carrier says so" and "the recipient says so".
  • Unconfirmed 48h+ tile: gifts delivered more than two days ago with no answer. Click it to filter the table. This is your follow-up list, if you want one.

Get an email when they tap Got it (Pro)

When a recipient taps Got it, the teammate assigned to them (or the desk lead, if nobody is assigned) can get an email titled "Got it" with the order number. If the recipient added a note, the email quotes it.

This email is sent when both are true:

  • the store has turned on Email gift-team contact on delivered in GiftDesk Settings (it is off by default), and
  • the store is on Pro, Plus, or the trial.

It is sent once per order. Tapping again, or switching to Not here and back, does not send another. On Starter, nobody is emailed and the Confirmed tile and badge show the answer.

When a recipient taps Not here

On every plan:

  • The badge turns red.
  • A ticket opens on that order with the carrier's last status and last scan, so the store and your team start from the same facts.
  • The recipient sees "We're on it", with your name, not the store's.

On Pro, Plus, and the trial, the teammate assigned to that recipient (or the desk lead, if nobody is assigned) also gets an email right away. Replying to and resolving tickets is on Pro. On Starter, the ticket still shows on the order and your team follows up by email.

If the parcel looks lost, you can ask the store to reship. See Stalled parcels, reships, and replacement orders.

Good to know

  • GiftDesk never emails the recipient to ask. The question only appears on the gift page they already use for tracking.
  • A recipient's answer never changes the carrier status. Your team sees both.
